milsurp_scout_14 Posted December 9, 2019 Share #1 Posted December 9, 2019 Came up with some interesting pouches at the SAR show this weekend. First is a WW2/Korea style GP ammo bag...except made of nylon, and contract dated 1987, made by Owen Mills. Main buckle is different, but that's the only changed feature. Didn't know they made these so late.

milsurp_scout_14 Posted December 9, 2019 Author Share #5 Posted December 9, 2019 Pouch marked 'RIA 1919'; has WW1 snap, leather strips sewn inside, and a snap hook on the rear. Not sure what this one's for.
milsurp_scout_14 Posted December 9, 2019 Author Share #6 Posted December 9, 2019 And finally, a strange 45 auto mag pouch. Made in the round flap WW1 style, OD canvas. Not marked, but main LTD snaps are marked United Carr, and rear snap is DOT. Not sure if this was issue or not.
atb Posted December 9, 2019 Share #7 Posted December 9, 2019 The RIA 1919 could be one of two things. The first one is a bolt pouch to carry the bolt for a M1903 rifle when it was replaced by the Pederson Device. Many were made and then became surplus soon after. You can easily find these pouches along with Pederson Device magazine pouches. Finding the actual Pederson Devices and their carriers is the near impossible thing. The second possibility is a pouch for the VB grenade launcher. I can't remember which it is.
milsurp_scout_14 Posted December 9, 2019 Author Share #8 Posted December 9, 2019 Upon further investigation of those leads, the WW1 pouch is indeed for the M1903 bolt. Thanks for the info!
