mortaydc60 Posted November 26, 2019 Share #7 Posted November 26, 2019 Very nice example, just what you want to see. In 60 plus years of collecting have only seen one on a uniform that was real. Can anyone show an example?
mortaydc60 Posted November 26, 2019 Share #8 Posted November 26, 2019 Not talking about pics of Trial that show patch but one on uniform that currently exists just to be clear.
patches Posted November 27, 2019 Share #9 Posted November 27, 2019 Not talking about pics of Trial that show patch but one on uniform that currently exists just to be clear. One would think these uniform Coats and IKE's would be very very rare considering the officers and men assigned to it directly (Not members of say the 1st Inf Div who where guards, and wore their division shoulder patches) were only temporally in this assignment, and afterwards moved on to other units where that unit's patch would now be worn. I guess to have an untouched Coat or IKE, lets say an IKE with a bonafide Trials patch on it, said man would of have to have immediately discharged in the midst of the trial and sent home, lets say something horrific, like both his parents died in a car wreck, you know a hardship discharge, he still wearing the trials patch. mortaydc60 Posted November 27, 2019 Share #11 Posted November 27, 2019 Surprised that the above conditions or any conditions are needed to have such an Ike jacket. Why?
mortaydc60 Posted November 30, 2019 Share #12 Posted November 30, 2019 Here is example of uniform with a bullion trial patch and 80th div on other shoulder. This came out of collection from very well know collector and dealer and ASMIC legend Smitty. Hope you enjoy this on Thanksgiving weekend.
tredhed2 Posted November 30, 2019 Share #13 Posted November 30, 2019 a better view....nice Ike Mort - and he means Richard W. Smith, an icon of ASMIC

patches Posted December 1, 2019 Share #15 Posted December 1, 2019 a better view....nice Ike Mort - and he means Richard W. Smith, an icon of ASMIC Field Artillery with CIB, perhaps transferred out from Inf to FA after V-E Day. No Ruptured Duck, a good guess he keept this IKe as is when he left the unit, what, the 6850th Internal Security Detachment.
