patches Posted November 25, 2019 Share #1 Posted November 25, 2019 A friend on FB posted something on one Dave Bald Eagle, says 82nd Airborne Division WWII, but his Bio's (Wiki and others, with most of the others just being copies of the Wiki on him) state he was at Anzio, and that means the 504th PIR, goes on to say he was in D-Day, which would be incorrect because the 504th PIR, while arriving in England from Italy in April 1944, not only didn't participate in the D-Day Drop, but the whole Normandy Campaign, they remaining in England, because it had to rest and rebuild. So could this be an error and they really meant The Netherlands?? Plus does or can anyone find his Silver Star, says awarded one at Anzio, and the Purple Heart in Normandy, can't find nothing on these points, not even a service photo too. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dave_Bald_Eagle#Life_and_work

patches Posted November 25, 2019 Author Share #8 Posted November 25, 2019 Yes seen that, that some 504 Trooper volunteered for the Pathfinders, thanks for the photos and info, so if he was, hopefully he'll show up on other rosters for 82nd Pathfinders. Did a check on the rosters for the 504th Parachute InfantryRegement, not listed, but then these are not conclusive, and are Partial - Under Contstruction. https://www.ww2-airborne.us/units/504/rosters/504_roster_srvc.html
