George F. Freed Jr. enlisted in the United States Navy on 20 January, 1942

He was received onboard the USS Jenkins 31 July, 1942. He stayed aboard this ship through 1944 and into the first half of 1945.

On 5 May, 1945 it showed George being received aboard the USS Fletcher (DD445) from the USS Jenkins (DD447).

He must’ve went back aboard the USS Jenkins at some point because on 15 March, 1946 it shows him being received aboard the USS Halsey Powell (DD686) from the USS Jenkins.

On 1 December, 1946, it showed George aboard the USS Laertes (AR-20). His rate showed to be SM1C which is Signalman 1st Class.

There were no other WWII Navy Muster Rolls after that and I could find no Rolls for Korea or afterwards with his name on them.
