Tortoise brought back from WWII!

Recommended Posts

My grandfather recently told about how he had brought back a tortoise from his tour in WWII as a pilot. He apparently kept it as a pet until the late 1980s. I will update the post with pictures when I get them!

It evidently had carvings on its shell from the war.

heres a funny one, As a child A friend had a box turtle, he painted his name on the bottom side of his shell. "Pete" Pete made a great escape and we never found him. 25 years later I found old Petes empty shell in the woods. His name painted on the bottom. I hope old Pete lived out a good life. Cant wait to see your pictures... :)
