24th ID Combat medic jacket

Hi All,

 

Recently just got this at a flea market in Florida and needed help Identifying more about the veteran. I couldn't really find much on him on my own so I'm looking for the forum for help.

 

The Veterans name is William A. McArthur

 

Included are his pants, jacket, belt, and single dog tag.

 

The placement of the medic badge was weird to me.

Really nice find. Born in 1923 and died in 1986. Looks like he enlisted on 9 Feb 1943 and was discharged 17 Feb 1946. Apparently he was attending Eastern Illinois State college before he joined up.

I like the lower-case "c" in his name on the dogtag. I'm not a dogtag guy, but I don't think I've ever seen that before.
