Caesar1 Posted November 16, 2019 Share #1 Posted November 16, 2019 Hi. I have always been intrigued by the ww2 painted flight jackets and usually dont dive into things without a lot of research but I did here. I purchased this at an online auction, just wondering what people think?

manayunkman Posted November 16, 2019 Share #3 Posted November 16, 2019 Can you get a better picture of the paint on the back? I think it looks good or 70% convinced that the paint is period.

JDK Posted November 21, 2019 Share #5 Posted November 21, 2019 I'll be honest, it's really hard to say for sure. Painted Navy jackets are almost non existent due to their regulations against it. JD
Jim MacDonald Posted November 30, 2019 Share #6 Posted November 30, 2019 I question why it has "Sq." in front of VF-3. I don't ever recall seeing it written that way in any of the period documents I've seen. Fighting Squadron Three or VF-3 would be the norm. But Sq. VF-3???
