Unique (To me) ACH Helmet

Greetings all. I was able to score this lid tonight.

Its unique in that it has something in it that Ive read about but never seen.

Under the pads its got a Trauma sensor.

When it comes in, I'l update this with better pics of the sensor.

I'l see what I can find out about these in the interim.

Apparently if you are injured in say an IED blast, they can measure the force etc etc registered on the helmet.

Not sure what good that does? But Its interesting for sure.

The purpose and theory is that if the TBI (traumatic brain injury) sensor is tripped by a blast, its an indicator that the soldier has suffered a blast that is sufficient for further medical testing for concussion or other brain trauma. Thats my understanding of it anyway. Maybe some others who have actually used these can fill in the blanks.

Nice lid and harder to find with the TBI sensors. These were issued out to units within the 101st for trial during one of their deployments. This is either the second or third generation sensor they trials with the first one being an externally mounted version.
