Help dating this Doughboy on horse

Recommended Posts

The back of this picture simply says "Frank Kearnay". Anyway someone can help me figure out what era this young man was serving? It looks like the Great War, but could be older, as I don't know enough to say Span-Am to Great War on this generic doughboy look! -grin-

Thanks for any help!

Elizabeth

Looking for Old-Style US Coast Guard Commendation Medal (w/ or w/o ribbon)!

Oh, tarry and be strong; Tell God in prayer. What is thy hidden grief; Thy secret care.

Yet, if no answer come; Pray on and wait: God's time is always best; Never too late.

Always interested in the 166th Infantry, 42nd Division, A.E.F.

Quality WW1 studio portraits and real photo postcards of Distinguished Service Cross recipients; showing steel helmets; or other interesting content.
