RWW Posted November 9, 2019 Share #1 Posted November 9, 2019 The Travalong safety razor make by the Pak Co. of Cleveland Ohio is an interesting piece of "survival" gear! This little razor was a listed component of the SAC E-1 survival kit, the CNU-1/P Sustenance Kit, and the B-58 Hustler kit. The SAC Land Survival Guide gives all the reasons for inclusion of this item in survival kits: "This collapsible razor only weighs 2 ounces. It may be essential at times that you shave to prevent detection or recognition. Also, like other grooming activities, such as washing your body and clothing and keeping your hair and nails trimmed, which add to your personal comfort, shaving always helps to maintain or boost moral." Need I say more... The E-1 and B-58 used the Leather case version while the cut out in the CNU-1/P is sized for the box.
