P-59A Posted November 8, 2019 Share #1 Posted November 8, 2019 I stumbled across this ammo belt for the M-14 and two ammo pouch's dated 1961. I know the Marines used the M-14 into Vietnam. My questions are, was the USMC gear marked different and when did they stop making this belt and pouch setup?

P-59A Posted November 8, 2019 Author Share #3 Posted November 8, 2019 The condition is very good. The flash wipes out the color.

Justin Posted November 8, 2019 Share #5 Posted November 8, 2019 Nice belts, the latest date I've seen is 1967. They have a raised dome style snap on the later ones.
GUDMAR1975 Posted November 8, 2019 Share #6 Posted November 8, 2019 The pouches I've seen were marked "US". I don't know when they stopped making the pouches or the belt. We used the pouches on the rifle range in Parris Island in 1975. The DIs had us put a bar of soap in them so the 20rd M-16 magazine would better positioned for easy access during rapid fire. I didn't see a belt like the one in the photo until I got to my first battalion. I was issued one like it. By then we had 30 round magazines with the properly sized LC-1 magazine pouch.
