WW1 Foggia pilot training medal

Recommended Posts

These were awarded to the US pilots that graduated the pilot school at Foggia, Italy, in 1917 and 1918.

I couldn't find much information about it, just this bronze medal for sale: https://www.flyingtigerantiques.com/ext-rare-wwi-bronze-medal-awarded-by-italian-gov-to-american-aviators-training-in-foggia-italy.html

Does anybody knows if there were different classes? Mine is in silver.
Thanks!

Very nice piece, especially due to the associated history.  What I wonder is if the pilots who graduated would also be entitled to the WWI Victory Medal with the "ITALY" bar.
