manayunkman Posted October 30, 2019 Share #1 Posted October 30, 2019 This jacket disappeared from eBay. I have been working to keep this group together. While the jacket isnt necessary it would be nice to reunite it to the group. Here is a picture. This is the first time that I can remember that Ive ever undertaken such a quest. I normally find groups complete so tracking things down is new. Many of Porters items are in the hands of one seller on eBay. Their prices are gliding smoothly above the stratosphere. So his items arent selling. When I went to buy the jacket a notice came up that the seller had ended the auction. After about 15 emails from this seller about the jacket I finally was told its on its way to Florida.

manayunkman Posted October 30, 2019 Author Share #11 Posted October 30, 2019 The flight suite was listed with a poor description and went under the radar for a few days until I made an offer.

Wake1941 Posted October 30, 2019 Share #14 Posted October 30, 2019 Wow great group of insignia, also love the helmet liner. Any chance he served under the 25th ID ? The patch missing is definitely either that or the 442nd

Bellumbill Posted October 31, 2019 Share #16 Posted October 31, 2019 Manay - Great grouping! Definitely 442nd - no missing that distinctive outline! Some great stuff out there on Col. Porter. https://442sd.org/other-news/rons-canteen-lt-col-john-d-porter/ - Fought 2 wars with ONE kidney! Here's hoping you track down the jacket! Best, Bill K.
