The Rooster Posted October 23, 2019 Share #1 Posted October 23, 2019 Greetings all, After seeing the posts lately about things under paint, I decided to take another look at a lid I bought a couple months ago. I bought it for the liner. Its had a lot of coats of paint over the years but as I was looking at it. I noticed red and white under all the green here and there. So today I started working it with goof off and I uncovered the MP Paint. The M unfortunately was gone. Only a halo on the bare netal where it had been. But the P and the lines are in great shape. It has some unit crests which I dont want to go any further with as Im pretty sure they would be destroyed. No numbers on it. But the dark blue crest on the left side has a crecent moon in the background. Rear seam.. Not sure but I think it has a stainless rim. Lots of paint on it. Thank you for looking. The Rooster Posted October 23, 2019 Author Share #3 Posted October 23, 2019 3The only hint of anything under the green was a few fleks of white and Red. Nothing standing out except on the one side you could see a circle. outline.

matthewsq Posted October 24, 2019 Share #6 Posted October 24, 2019 nice find, must have been exciting to discover. How did you remove the paint? I have what looks to be a medic helmet covered by a few coats of paint, and want to be as careful as possible with the removal. Cheers, Quinn
svt40 Posted November 3, 2019 Share #7 Posted November 3, 2019 I found one very similar at the surplus store in Ft Worth earlier this year. It was in a box full of euroclone helmets You could see the markings under the paint. A little brake cleaner and the top coat of paint came off easy.
