Great display! And one awesome sword! I am working on a combat Marine display myself. I will have to post some pictures when it is more complete.

Dean, great representation of a combat Marine! Love the sword and hanger, first like that I have ever seen. Now you just need a pair of used boondockers for his feet and it is spot on!

Thanks Brian

I have a used pair of boondockers but the boots wont sit on the spike at the back holding the mannequin up.

Its a shame, I think I will sit them next to his feet :-)

The sword is killer, also a first for many to see as Ive spoken to Japanese sword collectors and they have only ever heard of them. Period photos show Japanese with the swords on there back also, but I think this is a marine set up as it has military webbing for a strap, Also it was brought home by a marine

Thanks again

Yours

Dean

Pfc Thomas Underwood of B co 2nd Bn 24th Marines on Saipan. He's got a sword under his left arm, maybe supported by the strap across his chest or maybe supported some other was

Lace the boots together and throw them over his shoulder.

Put some reop socks on him cutting them at the bottom.

nothing so crazy as a cut up poncho, just a good example of how old photos can make it look like it doesn't have slits even when it does

Two photos taken by a different photographer at the same time

Wonderful set-up and well displayed. One small comment, the frag grenades do not appear to be WW2 period as the fused are post war and the RFX bodies are also not period and actually may be reproductions.

Hi

The grenade is a MK2 grenade and correct from pics I have seen, the left one is a dummy grenade

I think the one on the left (mannequins right) is definatly a real mk2 from what I can see, however the one with the yellow ring does look like a reproduction to me. No mk2 or mk2 training grenades have the jungle clip that is found on a M228 fuse, and it appears this one has a jungle clip. I must say however that it still looks good there and its an amazing display with a killer sword.

You are correct Ray

The one on the mannequins left is an original full metal body inert MK2 Grenade. The other is a rubber grenade for display.

Thanks for the kind words on the sword, still one of my

Favorite pieces. Lots more to show soon.
