Fixbayonets! Posted October 13, 2019 Share #1 Posted October 13, 2019 I picked up this in country made Vietnam 98th CHFM patch at a flea market this morning. I am not an expert on in country made patches by a long shot and I know how heavily reproduced they are. This patch has age & wear and looks to have been sewn on and removed. The patch was mixed in with a few other common patches and at $5 the dealer was not trying to get over on anybody. So I was hoping I could get a few opinions on this one, what do you think, is it a winner? Thanks in advance! Rob

kiaiokalewa Posted October 14, 2019 Share #4 Posted October 14, 2019 Looks right to me. Here's one that had not been worn/used on a uniform.
Fixbayonets! Posted October 14, 2019 Author Share #5 Posted October 14, 2019 Thanks for your input & for taking the time to post your example. The construction certainly looks the same. Rob
jwilliamsfnp Posted October 14, 2019 Share #6 Posted October 14, 2019 That patch is a well used example of the 98th Transportation Detachment, they were attached to the 120th Aviation Company. 1000% as it should be. You will find examples hand embroidered, machine embroidered, printed and in bevo weave. Jeff
Fixbayonets! Posted October 14, 2019 Author Share #7 Posted October 14, 2019 Thanks for the confirmation, glad to hear! The wear & age looked right but I know how the fakers can get crafty with these. Rob
