Early 60s flight suit that used to belong to a veteran that I knew who sadly passed a few years back. This suit was used when he was with JUSMAG in Thailand prior to his 2 tours in Vietnam.

The Joint United States Military Advisory Group, Thailand (JUSMAGTHAI) is the U.S. Department of Defense's Security Assistance Organization in Thailand. It was established on September 22nd, 1953. The Chief of JUSMAGTHAI also serves as the Senior Defense Official and Defense Attaché to Thailand. 

At the height of the Vietnam War, many American military specialists were assigned to JUSMAG-THAI in Bangkok. As many as 45,000 US military personnel were stationed in Thailand. In the twenty-first century, JUSMAGTHAI supports a variety of missions including a Joint Combined bilateral Exercise Program which averages over 60 exercises a year, Foreign Military Sales and humanitarian demining missions. JUSMAGTHAI is located on a Royal Thai Armed Forces military compound approximately two kilometers from the American Embassy, on Sathorn Tai Road.

This is one of my favorites I have.  Nothing really fancy but not one you see everyday either.  Was the flight suit of a OV-1 Mohawk pilot from the Oregon Army National Guard either from the 1042d MI BN (AE) or the 641st MI BN (CEWI AE) depending on the time it was worn.  The suit is a early 80s contract and 1042d became 641st in 1985, so Id say more likely it was 641st.  Has the Oregon State Guard insignia and a combat patch from the 1st Cav, probably from Vietnam.  Dont usually see the plastic encased ranks used by the Army either.

Any tags on this tiger stripe suit?    You should find a Navy APH-5 or APH-6 to display with that.

Here's one I've had for awhile - so long in fact that my pictures aren't very good (I should really take some new ones).  But here goes.  It's been flown in combat over Iraq in an F-16 and I bought directly from the pilot.  He even sent me a few photos of him wearing it and also flying in his F-16...

Found an old pic I took of one I have put away in storage.  Its an older K-2B suit with the O2 mask tab and also had the US Air Force meatball logo on the sleeve.   Can see they attached a FB-111 patch over the AF logo, and then has the 393d Bomb Squadron of the 509th Bomb Wing from their time at Pease AFB, NH.

While going through some items to sell this afternoon, I found this gem. A black experimental Aramid flightsuit that has a 1986 contract date. This came out of the huge SF sell off at the DRMO in the late 90s and early 00s.

 

I have seen these flightsuits erroneously identified as being SR-71 Blackbird pilot flughtsuits and guys asking $300 to $400 a piece. I think the fact these were black kind of fueled that theory.

 

I've also heard the theory that these were Delta used. This is possible, but I found a picture of these black flightsuits in use with 160th SOAR during Operation Prime Chance in 1987. Seeing how these flightsuits had a contract of 1986, the time period seems to fit.

 

I will also add that this is not a dyed sage green flightsuit, but a specially made black flightsuit.

Def a 160th black bag, I like them.  Been trying to get one but don't want to pay an arm and a leg for one that is very worn.  Missed out on one a few months ago and was even from a local seller.  Used to see those alot for sale in the late 90s early 2000s, and yeah with the fake stories.  Id always see the actual used F-117 flight suit just like you will see black painted 55P helmets saying F-117 and B-2 used lol

at least one of these already posted elsewhere in a specific topic. However since some months ago after gettting the second one these two specimens are my favorite, hands down, in my (small, after all) collection of flight suits from different countries worldwide.

 

Both PPS-type in great condition. Above the MC-1, first issued starting in January 1955 and made in 1,200 pieces specifically for USAF/NACA airplanes  -   first Partial Pressure Suit having at least some bladder ensemble for (limited) protection on chest and abdomen, + provision for pressure gloves.

Below a very rare C-1A , a specific USN-developed version of the more known T-1 of USAF/NACA fame. Starting in late summer 1955, each individually tailored for a precise aviator.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Both by David Clark Co.  MC-1 does have connections for pressure gloves but does lack anti-G protection

 

 

 

 

 

The C-1A does have anti-G protection (being a modified T-1) but does lack pressure gloves and chest/abdominal bladders. Mine had been tailored for F.S. Chamberlain, sure a naval aviator but I do not know any more.
