Nathan B Forest Pin

I've been trying to find any information on this pin I got in a tin full of other military patches/rank/etc.

It has two horses, one arrow, a portrait with the name Nathan B Forest over it, the words King's Mountain to the left and Chalmette to the right and below it the Latin inscription "Non Siri Sed Patriae". (Images to follow) Made by N.S. Meyer Inc, New York.

I'm hoping someone can tell me what it was for or about.

Thank you in advance for any help.

Puma

This is the regimental insignia (Distinctive / crest) for the 109th Cavalry regiment, It was also used by the 181st Armored Field artillery battalion.

Thank you so much. I spent several hours scouring the interwebs trying to find it but nothing came up.

Very happy to help!
