Austin_Militaria Posted October 8, 2019 Share #1 Posted October 8, 2019 I picked up the camo smock a couple months back and just got a couple other things from the same individual in San Antonio TX. The Ike is named to a Leonard White. It has a post WWII German made 1st ID patch. I got this from Cpl. White's cousin who was given this lot when he was just 10 years old. He remembers being told to use the smock for dear hunting.
Persian Gulf Command Posted October 8, 2019 Share #2 Posted October 8, 2019 Great German late war Fallschirmjager (Paratrooper) Smock. I consider these German Paratrooper items the best war trophies obtainable. These troopers were for the most part honorable soldiers and tough as nails. Truly elite as were our Airborne Troopers. INIMICUS Posted October 17, 2019 Share #10 Posted October 17, 2019 outstanding - esp. with the eagle still in place! by the way, is the backing piece the eagle's woven on camo? u.s. or enemy, this is why we 'get out there.' and yeah, mutual respect among all jumpers, then as now. BigJohn#3RD Posted October 17, 2019 Share #11 Posted October 17, 2019 Nice bring backs from WW2. It would be interesting to learn more about the veteran and his service.
