vintageproductions Posted October 7, 2019 Share #1 Posted October 7, 2019 Where is this 101st division made? I've had some say Vietnam, and I have handled a lot of Vietnamese made insignia and have never seen anything close to this construction. Someone I trust a lot thought Korean made, but I don't see any Korean traits. Plus I have never seen a Korean made piece with a black back like this one. Any other thoughts? Thanks. Wake1941 Posted October 7, 2019 Share #3 Posted October 7, 2019 Doesnt really match the Philippine construction. The black return threads are interesting.
Allan H. Posted October 7, 2019 Share #4 Posted October 7, 2019 My first thought was that this kind of looks like the first generation of fakes that came out of the Czech Republic. They got a whole lot better in a very short period of time. Allan

BILL THE PATCH Posted October 7, 2019 Share #8 Posted October 7, 2019 Could it have been added later to the blanket?, That's a funky looking bird. Definitely not Vietnam era? Sent from my Moto G (5) Plus using Tapatalk
vintageproductions Posted October 7, 2019 Author Share #9 Posted October 7, 2019 No way was it added later as there were other patches sewn over the borders. It could be Vietnam era, but not Vietnamese made.
gwb123 Posted October 7, 2019 Share #10 Posted October 7, 2019 I am thinking I've seen black thread on the back of German made patches. As a wild guess I am thinking early 1950's Occupation period. But that is just speculation.
