Meet the Schlueters

Hi everyone, I'm not what you call an M-1 collector but every now and then I pick one up if I like it. Same here with these Schlueters. Over a span of some 4 years I managed to collect these three. They are all front seam fixed loop shells but they are all a little bit different.

The shell furthest away has heat stamp 32A and is almost in mint condition. It came with an Inland liner with green coated A washers.

The one one the left has heat stamp 65A which can be found underneath its left chinstrap loop. It is marked with a name J.B. Flatterly and it came with a Firestone liner.

The one on the right has heat stamp 164 A (the one 1 is very faint and doesn't show very well in photographs). It has OD 7 chinstraps and it came with an unmarked liner (except for a number 5 in the crown).

Enough talking, here are some pictures :)

Here I've tried to show the difference in color between OD3 (shell 32A) and OD 7 chinstraps. I have to say that in hand the difference is more clearly to see.

And to conclude here is the liner that came with shell 164A. It also appears to have green coated A washers

Very nice, thanks for sharing. I've always liked the Schlueter helmets. I've got 5 as of now in my collection, 3 swivel and 2 FB. Unfortunately the one FB is very rusty (though has shore party markings, while the other doesn't have great paint. I'd kill for a Schlueter fixed bail as nice as these!

I have a very nice issued Schlueter SB FS as well, pretty much MINT that was picked up by my father at a yard sale. The vet had been issued the helmet back in the 1960's and went to Vietnam and brought it home. He must had been a RIMF because the helmet was in MINT condition with a Mitchell pattern camouflage helmet cover and Firestone 1944 helmet liner. Heat lot number 323 One of the rear helmet webbing rivets had broke, easy fix!

Nice group! Schlueter fb's are hard to find, especially in this condition. Congrats!

Hey, save some for the rest of us! Managed to pick up my first last year, a fs sb. Still trying to get a fixed loop. Those are awesome helmets. I know the average Schlueter fab is worth around 175 - 200 but what is a mint one worth?
