PA Chris Posted September 30, 2019 Share #1 Posted September 30, 2019 Hello. I picked up a USN MK2, blade marked, by Camillus. It has the early screw pommel, but I wanted to know could it be a repro, or is it a known fact that all the later, postwar made ones, were never produced with a screw pommel? Thanks, Chris. mikedon Posted September 30, 2019 Share #2 Posted September 30, 2019 Blade marked CAMILLUS, N.Y. - U.S.N. with the thick screw pommel. It is the only WWII Camillus Mark 2 variation marked U.S.N. All WWII Camillus Mark 2's after this one had the thin pinned pommel. I do not know of any Camillus post war reproductions made with the screw pommel. sactroop Posted October 1, 2019 Share #6 Posted October 1, 2019 In the 90's Camillus did make a version of the U.S.M.C. marked knife that resembled the later versions of their WW2 U.S.M.C. . Don't remember Camillus ever making a reproduction of a Navy marked knife. They may have made a commemorative version of a WW2 Navy knife that I just don't remember.
