redone Posted September 29, 2019 Share #1 Posted September 29, 2019 I've never come across rate in this color. Is this a real rate and what time period is it from ? Also I'm going to buy this from my friend if it an original. What should I offer him. I want to be fair , but I don't know what these older rates sell for. Justin B. Posted September 29, 2019 Share #2 Posted September 29, 2019 It's "real" but not navy. Probably for a women's middy dress or blouse.

sigsaye Posted September 30, 2019 Share #4 Posted September 30, 2019 Yep, as Justin says. Civilian Fashion piece for ladies blouse or dress. Around 1917-1920(ish).
David Minton Posted September 30, 2019 Share #5 Posted September 30, 2019 Yep, as Justin says. Civilian Fashion piece for ladies blouse or dress. Around 1917-1920(ish). Agreed. Middie rates can look just like USN rates, other than thread color, as some were made by the same companies, on the same equipment, they used to make rates for the USN.
