The Rooster Posted September 24, 2019 Share #5 Posted September 24, 2019 Original hawley liner Remains. Un marked. No name. Ive no idea how much its worth. But its the real deal. Its got that been there done that look and due to it coming of that particular ship, Im sure it has. Its rare for sure. Other members here have some too in much nicer shape and named. Hi Kahn ! To me its the most valuable rare one I have.
The Rooster Posted September 24, 2019 Share #6 Posted September 24, 2019 The heat stamp number on the shell is 41CC2 Fixed Bail. McCord. January 1942
RememberThe5thESB Posted September 24, 2019 Share #7 Posted September 24, 2019 Owned by a local vet (across a river anyway, got married in my county though!) Found it at a flea market, super early McCord (melted looking bails, cast buckle chinstrap!) But was used late war, from his time in 44-46, it's off either the USS Iowa or USS Twining, only two ships he served on. It's the nicest M1 I've ever owned and probably will own. Basically the prize of my collection. Sent from my SM-J327V using Tapatalk

usoverlord Posted September 30, 2019 Share #17 Posted September 30, 2019 Nice one Justin. The unsung heros', the plain old lowly grunt. The boots on the ground, the ground pounders.
Nickman983 Posted September 30, 2019 Share #18 Posted September 30, 2019 Not as rare as some of the helmets others have shared but these are some of my favorites at the moment. First up is a post KW to early VN war USMC lid with matching helmet, liner, and cover Very salty FB Schlueter with shore party markings Next up is my USS San Francisco helmet. Nice, early FB with a complete but damaged 1st pattern Hawley FS SB Helmet with over painted NCO Bar. This one had some net ghosting so I've paired it with a 1/2" tan net and a decent condition St. Clair liner Mid war FB with matching name stamping on the liner/shell. Unfortunately a very common last name but still a nice matched set Finally a named M1917A1 with red Captains or Lieutenant bars. I think I have this one possibly named to a Naval Lieutenant Commander who is listed as missing in action or lost at sea.
