Small 3rd Army group with captured dagger

Recommended Posts

A group that never saw the light of day until yesterday.

I believe the army dagger has an ivory handle.

In 52 years of picking its the first one I ever found.

The vet.

Hiya, nice grouping, a lot of photographs.

The U.S.R.R.A Courtesy Pass Card shown in the first post relates to the French Riviera area, ' United States Riviera Recreational Area ' this might help with locations for some of the many photographs in the grouping, hotels, cinemas, sports events, night clubs . . . . . . . . . ;)

regards lewis.

Thanks Lewis for that info.

I was wondering what that meant.

Most of the pictures are from Metz and Frankfurt.

Do you know anything about the handle?

Doesnt look like celluloid.

Handle is NOT ivory. It is a standard German Army Officer dress dagger. Colors ive seen are white, sometimes an orange color. Handle may be made of bakelite.

Nothing on the blade.

All photos are either Metz or Frankfurt.

Thank you for all remarks.

If it’s not ivory what could it be?
