Ray42 Posted September 6, 2019 Share #1 Posted September 6, 2019 I am wondering if this glider wing looks good to people. I know its the "flat version" however the pin looks longer then the others I have seen online and not being an expert I thought I should ask people who know more then me if it looked ok or had been replaced. Thanks!
Brian Dentino Posted September 6, 2019 Share #2 Posted September 6, 2019 Need much better pictures to make any call on these. Way to small to see anything to call one way or another. Always looking for 325th G.I.R. and WWII USMC items!
Ray42 Posted September 6, 2019 Author Share #3 Posted September 6, 2019 Sorry about that, I always seem to have that problem when I email a photo to myself from my phone, Ill try again.
Ray42 Posted September 6, 2019 Author Share #4 Posted September 6, 2019 Hopefully this one is better, it lost a little detail, but my main concern is that it appears the pin extends over the edge of the pin.

Ray42 Posted September 6, 2019 Author Share #6 Posted September 6, 2019 Thank you for confirming. Hopefully thats not too much of a loss at 40$. I really only needed something to serve as a placeholder on a uniform until I can locate a reasonably priced glider pin identical to the one the vetrain had anyway.
Wake1941 Posted September 6, 2019 Share #7 Posted September 6, 2019 I wouldnt say you did bad, The pin was probably added by a jeweler in the last 20 years but its good for a tunic Check out my eBay page, I sell military insignia and just about anything else I come acrossLink: https://www.ebay.com/sch/fitzkeemilitaria/m.html?item=223497878518&hash=item340982fbf6%3Ag%3ASs4AAOSw-llcxhqe&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562 Please check out my web page as well for more items for sale https://fitzkeemilitaria.com/
Ray42 Posted September 7, 2019 Author Share #8 Posted September 7, 2019 Thanks, I guess I just dont know what the current market is for world war two era wings.
Tonomachi Posted September 8, 2019 Share #9 Posted September 8, 2019 I think you did great at 40 dollars as this is a much sought after variant than the standard glider trooper wing.
Allan H. Posted September 9, 2019 Share #10 Posted September 9, 2019 It looks to me like bot the pin and the catch have been replaced. I agree with the others, the wing itself is an original. Allan Never under-estimate the power of prayer.
Ray42 Posted September 9, 2019 Author Share #11 Posted September 9, 2019 It looks to me like bot the pin and the catch have been replaced. I agree with the others, the wing itself is an original. Allan I had not noticed that until you mentioned it. The discoloration does kind of make it look like it might have been replaced, I will have to take a closer look. At least its real and will display well from the front. Thanks for the response.
