ID Era of Service

Judging by how the aviator is dressed, can anyone tell me whether this is a WWII or Korean War bombadier (see set of wings) with the 5th AF? I know his name is Albert Hoffman and I believe was from PA. I don't subscribe to any ancestry research websites.

I'd say the khaki flight cap dates him to WW2 as by Korea it would have been Air Force blue.

I think he is an aerial gunner. He has no officer rank on his shirt collar, cap or epaulets. Bombardiers were typically officers.
