phil.co1 Posted September 4, 2019 Share #1 Posted September 4, 2019 Found in a field in the UK in the 80,s used by the US Airforce but can`t remember where. Was crushed but owner managed to straighten it out reasonably well. what type of liner was used and has anyone got any pics. Any info appreciated. thunderbolts45 Posted September 4, 2019 Share #2 Posted September 4, 2019 Looks like its was bent out to accommodate a headset. Something early war air crews would do to fit the helmet over flight caps
Pegasus6 Posted September 4, 2019 Share #3 Posted September 4, 2019 Thunderbolt hit it right on the head. Modified M1 for Aircrew prior to the M3 Flak Helmet being available in quantity/production. Looks like its been repainted? or is that a original repaint following the field modification? Hard to tell from the photos. VRPeg6
