M24 Chaffee Posted September 4, 2019 Share #1 Posted September 4, 2019 Theyre at this airport until Friday Sept. 6th. Just up 95 North. Nothing like the throaty sound of those engines! Waltz41 Posted September 4, 2019 Share #2 Posted September 4, 2019 Been watching on the virtual radar to see if they would fly this way, but been pretty much staying over on the Jersey side. I did catch the P-51 yesterday at about 10000 ft! He circled the area once then went along his way. Only I have seen of them so far. Would of went over but saw them up in Hazleton a few weeks ago. thunderbolts45 Posted September 4, 2019 Share #3 Posted September 4, 2019 Thanks for heads up! I just so happened to see "Witchcraft" fly over the parking lot of Wegmans in Ocean, NJ when I was leaving a few weeks back. What a beautiful sight. Swifter Posted September 6, 2019 Share #4 Posted September 6, 2019 Flew in that B24 when it was on tour here in central IA a few years back. What was most eye opening was how much of the aircraft was open to free-air flow. The number of gaps and openings was surprising. Can only imagine what it was like in February, over Germany, at 20K feet with 109s, 190s buzzing around and twelve 50 calibers banging away. Cold and noisy as hell.... Thor996 Posted September 6, 2019 Share #5 Posted September 6, 2019 go go GO if you can and you are near where they are. Just going to see those war birds is a treat. Have flown on the B17, B24 and B25 -A M A Z I N G. They aren't in my area this year or I'd go again!
