Pep Posted August 30, 2019 Share #1 Posted August 30, 2019 Was wondering if this was a knife from WW2. And if indeed it was a USN issued knife. Thanks

sactroop Posted August 30, 2019 Share #3 Posted August 30, 2019 Yes, a Camillus Mark1 knife. Many companies made Mark1 knives during the war. Most of them have their own little variations from the rest. I believe Camillus was the only company to make a Mark1 knife with a saber ground blade. sactroop Posted August 31, 2019 Share #7 Posted August 31, 2019 The sheath is original and came with the knife from Camillus. Not all of them of that style and manufacture were stamped with the "Keep this knife well oiled". In the past many speculated that this message wouldn't have come with a knife meant for G.I.'s. Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction.
