Take a seat, gentlemen.

So, my wife and I had a chance to view a special exhibit at Omaha's Joslyn Art Museum titled "The Art of Seating: 200 Years of American Design".

It was actually quite interesting, with some very classic designs as well as some high concept pieces.

But over along the side of the wall, and totally unexpected...

Was this humble gem... and for some reason so familiar.

My first thought was "I have sat in that chair!" Or one very much like it (I was in the Army, not the Navy).

The exhibit card explained all... (This one was actually manufactured in 1944.)

So the next time your wife asks you to go to the Art Museum... keep an open mind! You never know what you might find!

Salvage Sailor

I've parked my can on one of these tin can chairs many times. Light, durable and surprisingly comfortable even in heavy seas.

I think Arby's or some other chain used those at some locations a few years ago too.

If it ain't broke dont fix it!
