mhalstead1950 Posted August 9, 2019 Share #1 Posted August 9, 2019 Alright, while I don't know much about EGAs I believe this one to be a WWI enlisted hat badge. Feel free to correct me if I'm off on that one. It is mounted to a small wooden plaque along with the number 35. This came out of a museum liquidation, which lucky enough for me had a good amount of military stuff, that for the most part went pretty cheap. The big question I have is what the 35 is supposed to represent, they both seem to have been on that plaque for a long time, ant the wear seems to be consistent so I imagine that they do actually go together. Thanks, Madeline.
jeremiahcable Posted August 9, 2019 Share #2 Posted August 9, 2019 Neat find. Those look like company numbers, so most likely this marine was in the 35th Co prior to WW1. That pattern of EGA is most commonly seen before WW1.

6th.MG.BN Posted August 10, 2019 Share #5 Posted August 10, 2019 Nice find. Is it just me or has this plaque been exposed to a fire? Could we see a picture of the back? Ken
