"US" marked Ross Mk I bayonet

Recommended Posts

My son and I recently found this Ross bayonet in an antique store in California. He managed to pay for it before I could. It appears that the previous owner felt it necessary to clean it up with sand paper or the like, but still a nice find. Would love to have the rifle to go with it!

Nice bayo! Can we see the full blade? If I recall correctly, most of these bayonets were cut down and sold to the civilian market. Most of the ross bayonets you see these days are as such - cut down. This one looks like it could be full length.

Awesome, thanks Speeder! Looks like this is a fully original ross rifle bayonet with the original "butcher" point on the blade. Here's a great thread on the ross bayonet. See post #9 an #10 for an example like yours and a short discussion of the original blade. Also a great thread for identifying markings on Ross bayonets.

Thanks for sharing!
