WWII type 3 101st an Insignia question

Im working on acquiring my first WW2 era 101st ab shoulder Insignia but have some questions. To me this is a type 3. Correct?

Also is the backing correct to be WWII era? To me it looks dark gray. Thank you Im advance.

No doubt WW2.You will even find some of the 101st with the twill material uncut from between the tab and main patch body.

Thank you Bill.. Should I generally be looking for OD green and khaki material?

I wouldn't use that as a guild, try Mark bandos trigger time website, (patch corner) will be a great help to you. Plus go through old threads on here.
