USCapturephotos Posted August 6, 2019 Share #27 Posted August 6, 2019 What an amazing grouping. I was able to interview a 442nd vet about 15 years ago. He was from the Philadelphia area and talked about how different his experience was being a Japanese American from the East Coast as compared to the West Coast or Hawaii. Thanks for sharing. Wish I could afford it! Paul

dskjl Posted September 22, 2019 Author Share #36 Posted September 22, 2019 There a couple of photo albums with the group as well, family photos, trips to Japan, his retirement, pics of him as a boy and his wife and kids, and one that I imagine is of his family in Japan before the war. dskjl Posted October 4, 2019 Author Share #39 Posted October 4, 2019 Looking some sort of count for the number of 442nd POWs, so far I have only found reference to 8 in total. Anybody have any idea or info on 442nd POWs? Thanks, Dwight
KASTAUFFER Posted October 4, 2019 Share #40 Posted October 4, 2019 There are 46 people flagged with the race "Japanese" on the AAD POW list as held by Germany. That doesnt mean they were all 442 Guys, but I bet most were. Some would have been 522nd FA BN too, https://aad.archives.gov/aad/display-partial-records.jsp?dt=466&sc=11675%2C11660%2C11679%2C11666%2C11667%2C11669%2C11676%2C11672%2C11673&cat=all&tf=&bc=%2Cfd&q=&as_alq=&as_anq=&as_epq=&as_woq=&nfo_11675=V%2C8%2C1900&op_11675=0&txt_11675=&nfo_11660=V%2C24%2C1900&op_11660=0&txt_11660=&nfo_11679=V%2C1%2C1900&cl_11679=&nfo_11666=V%2C1%2C1900&cl_11666=4&nfo_11667=V%2C2%2C1900&cl_11667=&nfo_11669=V%2C2%2C1900&cl_11669=&nfo_11676=V%2C1%2C1900&cl_11676=&nfo_11672=V%2C1%2C1900&cl_11672=1&nfo_11673=V%2C3%2C1900&cl_11673= Kurt
dskjl Posted October 5, 2019 Author Share #41 Posted October 5, 2019 Kurt, Thank you for the link and your efforts. The 8 POWs I found came from the 442nd website; the link you provided has better detail and much broader scope, its getting saved to favorites. Thanks again
