644td Posted July 27, 2019 #3 Posted July 27, 2019 I like both pieces, I’ve ever seen a camo shell before. Is there any history to the pieces? Marty
kammo-man Posted July 27, 2019 Author #4 Posted July 27, 2019 So I got the shell several years ago from a camouflage collector master who seen the artistic aspect of it. The shell was found in up state nyc in the mid 1960s. It set a simmering fire with me and I always wanted a cammo helmet to display side by side. I am very into pattern format = how the scheme plays to the eye and viewed many lids before one caught my eye. I am under no illusions that the 86th were not in the thick of it but they were deployed and were in France 1918. The voyage home on the boat was long and most camouflage helmets were painted during this time. This probably being one of them. What I enjoy is the turquoise blue. Artifacts either appeal to yiu or they don’t. This one floated my boat. Thanks Bugme for the sage advice on this field. Owen Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
