Going to take a look Sunday, fingers crossed.

Went through Franks repro section as a safety, didn’t match anything which is good.

Yeah, Agree it's original...I'd guess somebody painted it black, but looks like it was done a long time done......Bodes

Fortunately no sheath, so no blade marks.

The black paint concerned me about it being a fake.

The French made Au Lions were the ones with the marked blades, not the LF&C's......Bodes

Scratch that, you're talking about marks left by the scabbard.....Bodes

Bodes, sorry for not being clear, was talking about draw marks on the blade from being inserted into a sheath.

I sent pics to Frank for verification. He said it is good but the black paint affects value.

Going to pass on it for now.
