schmooser Posted July 26, 2019 Author Share #3 Posted July 26, 2019 Going to take a look Sunday, fingers crossed. Went through Franks repro section as a safety, didn’t match anything which is good.
Bodes Posted July 26, 2019 Share #4 Posted July 26, 2019 Yeah, Agree it's original...I'd guess somebody painted it black, but looks like it was done a long time done......Bodes
schmooser Posted July 27, 2019 Author Share #5 Posted July 27, 2019 Fortunately no sheath, so no blade marks. The black paint concerned me about it being a fake.
Bodes Posted July 27, 2019 Share #6 Posted July 27, 2019 Fortunately no sheath, so no blade marks. The black paint concerned me about it being a fake. The French made Au Lions were the ones with the marked blades, not the LF&C's......Bodes

schmooser Posted July 27, 2019 Author Share #8 Posted July 27, 2019 Bodes, sorry for not being clear, was talking about draw marks on the blade from being inserted into a sheath. I sent pics to Frank for verification. He said it is good but the black paint affects value. Going to pass on it for now. Thanks everyone for comments. tarbridge Posted July 27, 2019 Share #9 Posted July 27, 2019 If the price is reasonable it's worth buying.
