July 20, 1969, man reaches the moon....One small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind....

 

I know it's not a military item in it's truest sense but the astronauts saw military service prior to their NASA career.

 

The kit is the old Revell 1:48 scale moon lander, released in the early 1970's.

Very Nice! I still remember Walter Cronkite's reporting of Neil Armstrong on the moon and the look of accomplishment and pride on his face.

Nice! Both Aldrin and Collins were still in the Air Force at the time, so I say it's fair game here.
