post war German occupation unit ashtray - transportation corp

I picked this up for a $1 at a flea market. Does anyone have an idea as to what unit the DI is for?

Wow thought this would be a piece of cake.

 

Clearly it's for a TC unit, designator 8, but getting no hits for a TC unit with a 8, that's neither a 8th Trans Grp, a 8th Trans Bn, or a 8th Trans Co in USAEUER.

Found a 8th Trans Bn in Germany, curious though, this 8th Trans Bn was an aviation unit, the insignia with the 8 on the ashtray is more indicative of a Railway unit.

It is the 8th Transportation Traffic Regulation Group, part of the USAREUR Transportation Center Rheinau. Rheinau was part of the Heidelberg Military Post. The 8th TTRG has been deactivated in Dezember '63.
