MPoorthuis Posted July 4, 2019 Share #1 Posted July 4, 2019 Hi guys, can you please help me date this M1 helmet, especially the shell? I already found a stamp in the liner (1961) and the Mitchell cover was made by Capitol Fur Inc., so that would be 1967. See below some photos of the shell. The heat stamp is 8711? This is my first helmet, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
AnDuc49 Posted July 4, 2019 Share #2 Posted July 4, 2019 Pretty sure that is just a plain old Ingersoll shell
MPoorthuis Posted July 4, 2019 Author Share #3 Posted July 4, 2019 Sure? As there is no I in front of the heat stamp? I thought it might be a Parish Division of Dana Corp. made shell.
Justin Posted July 4, 2019 Share #4 Posted July 4, 2019 Parish Division of the Dana Corporation would be my guess.

Theriddler Posted July 4, 2019 Share #9 Posted July 4, 2019 I would also say late 60’s Parish Division of Dana shell going by the heatstamp/ lot number and 1961 Westinghouse, Micarta liner produced with a MSA mould leased from the Goverment.
