Tonomachi Posted July 1, 2019 Share #1 Posted July 1, 2019 I know this is a very collectible especially if it is an original MARSOC patch due to all of the copies out on the market but I still can't see $429.00. https://www.ebay.com/itm/USMC-Special-Operations-Command-MARSOC-Raider-SOF-Subdued-Unit-Patch-/133093627397?nordt=true&nma=true&si=xmqCCMdM8ewoBIpgVZNiXjWUDpo%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
BagmanL6 Posted July 1, 2019 Share #2 Posted July 1, 2019 You are not the only one who kind of scratches their head on some of the sales for this seller. I tend to believe he has a bit of a "cult" following and a feeding frenzy develops when he posts items like this. Nothing against the seller or his items. He is able to realize extremely top dollar. The same issues you have with Vietnam patches are the issues you have with GWOT patches. Some of us have discussed the various "levels" of patches. Most collectors I know only collect Level 1. Everything else is too much risk. Level 1 - Direct from the Veteran. Been worn down range and shows it. Solid provenance. Level 2 - No provenance but considered a legitimate patch. Was obtained somewhere along the line from a patch shop most likely in theater. Level 3 - Fantasy piece. Collector copy. Made to order for a collector. All others.
