KingsMountainTigers Posted June 28, 2019 Share #1 Posted June 28, 2019 I purchased this knife about a week ago. I've been wanting one of these for a while and finally found a good one. It has an oxblood sheath dating it to mid to late 60s. It's named to Sgt. Ivan Boyd Blankenship. I found a short obituary, but unfortunately I can't find a photo of him. There is also the name J H Lewis on the front, but it is a pretty common name. I plan on using the knife rather than letting it sit on a shelf. I'm just going to be careful and treat it with care. If it survived Vietnam I don't believe I can hurt it much. ?
KingsMountainTigers Posted June 28, 2019 Author Share #2 Posted June 28, 2019 If anyone can find out more on this soldier, I would definitely be interested. I believe there are some records of his on Ancestry and Fold3, but I don't have a membership to either.
