Spathologist Posted December 28, 2008 Share #1 Posted December 28, 2008 I don't even know if they're GI, but I've seen a few advertised as WWI and WWII kits. Anyone know anything about them?
Bob Hudson Posted December 28, 2008 Share #2 Posted December 28, 2008 Here's one I got from the trunk of a WWII CBI pilot:
Spathologist Posted December 28, 2008 Author Share #3 Posted December 28, 2008 Oooh, yours has a metal tube in the center to hold the needles. The one I bought just has a roll of cardboard....
craig_pickrall Posted December 28, 2008 Share #4 Posted December 28, 2008 http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/ind...=1386&st=20 Check this link. The first kit is in post # 30 as part of a WW1 hygiene kit. There are others, usually as stand alone kits. All I have seen are OD green with the metal tube for needles. Hard to say if yours was intended for military use but it certainly is possible. What color thread does it have?
Spathologist Posted December 29, 2008 Author Share #5 Posted December 29, 2008 Check this link. The first kit is in post # 30 as part of a WW1 hygiene kit. What color thread does it have? It's exactly like Forum Support's, except it has directions on a piece of card which describes the cardboard roll holding the needles as correct for that kit. I just think they're kindof a neat solution; much better than the present kits sold in the PX.
