I have just received some uniforms, hats and other items from a retired collector. Some of the hats need some repairs. Does anyone know a place that does this, fairly cheaply. Some places I found have high prices, that it would be better to find another hat.

Unless the material is rare or really scarce, I'd try a local dry cleaner/tailor.

The town I live in has a large active military base, and we have here a great cleaners who also sews patches and the like for troops... specializing in military stuff. I'd trust them with anything.

You will most likely get more useful advice if you actually described what kind of hats. Visored hats, overseas hats, campaign hats, fatigue hats?? What time period? Just trying to help you.

Good luck!!

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the reply. They are Class A & B hats (with visors). Some I have managed nto fix myself with re-blocking and cleaning. But the others really got flattened. Four of the others leather headband has become separated. I could take the time to repair them, and look presentable. But if there is someone that does this already, I will just let them do it. They are from the 1950's to 80's. All five branches. Would post some photo's, but there's the down sizing image thing, that needs to be good, so I can be able to do that.
