Mexican Insurrection Dog Tag

Today at the flea market I bought a collection of material belonging to Joseph T Grimsley of Pawnee, OK. He served with the 1st Oklahoma Infantry Regiment during the Mexican Insurrection and WW1. That unit was sent to France as part of the 142nd Infantry Regiment of the 36th Division. He was apparently wounded in WW1 but returned home and lived until 1957.

I got his Mexican Insurrection dog tag (apparently made from a Mexican coin), his 2 WW1 dog tags, 2 1st. Oklahoma Infantry collar brass sets, a "Souvenir of France" cloth 1919 postcard, a framed 8"x35" yard long photo of the 1st. Oklahoma tents at San Benito, TX 1916, A large 18"x24" framed poster listing his outfit in the Mexican Insurrection (Grimsley a Corporal), and a 18"x24" framed poster listing his unit in WW1 (Grimsley a Sergeant).

WW1 dog tags are hard to find, but Mexican Insurrection dog tags are REALLY hard to find. I picture this one below. I will post more on Grimsley as I research him.
