easterneagle87 Posted June 17, 2019 Share #1 Posted June 17, 2019 Fathers Day dig out of a bin of photos at an Antique Mall, Medford, OR. Small snap shot of a group of young WW2 aviators. Badge over the pocket appears to have their photo ID. Army ? Navy ? At first glance I thought they were WASP's, but put my glasses on for a second look and turned out they were dudes! Bummer! There might have been more, BUT my even though my daughter is 26 and humors me with letting me hunt for junk, there is only so much time and patience. Love my kids! Happy Fathers Day! 72psb Posted June 17, 2019 Share #2 Posted June 17, 2019 Chin cups would push me toward Navy or Marines.Contracted flight school?
pararaftanr2 Posted June 17, 2019 Share #3 Posted June 17, 2019 They are U.S. Army Air Corps, and probably aviation cadets, based on their uniformity of dress. The flight suit is the summer, gabardine, A-4 type. Helmets with chin cups here would be the summer type A-8, also made of gabardine.

Agree..the double snaps at the collar are typical of the early A4 suits as well as a single upper right chest pocket
