Mr.Jerry

1st wave of the 1st Infantry

Recommended Posts

This one has been shown before but is one of my favorites. He hit the beach with 1st wave of the 1st Infantry Division. He was awarded the bronze star on June 6th for going back and bringing more ammo up to the line under enemy fire. Funny thing was when I found it the antique dealer had everything priced out separately, it was only the next month that he got me the newspaper clipping of the bronze star award and photos.

wonderful group Jerry! I second Kyles comments about the box. Love his picture too, really brings a face to the uniform and his actions.

Nice save for stopping this great grouping from being separated.
