After doing a bit of amateur detective work on the internet, I found he was in the 90th I.D. and killed in action 13 June / 44. It would be interesting to find more info on him. I would suppose that young Lieutenants just didn't last long. I also wonder how his trunk ended up in a Thrift Store after all those years.
