WW2 Officers Trunk / KIA 13 June 1944

I recently found this trunk in a Thrift Store. After doing a bit of amateur detective work on the internet, I found he was in the 90th I.D. and killed in action 13 June / 44. It would be interesting to find more info on him. I would suppose that young Lieutenants just didn't last long. I also wonder how his trunk ended up in a Thrift Store after all those years.

He probably had the trunk from his stateside training days, then took it home or sent it home when he went overseas.

Thanks, that's a real possibility! Here is a photo of his grave I found on the internet...
