WWII DFC to POW

Hi all I picked this DFC up recently. It is named to Frank Fretz on the box. The medal itself isn't named. I was told by the seller that it was her friend's father and he was shot down over France and became a POW for the rest of the war. I haven't been able to find much on him online though as of yet.

I did not find any Missing Air Crew Reports with him mentioned on it and did not find him on the NARA list of POWs or Internees.

 

There is a good chance he was not a POW.

Thanks for checking that for me. That is interesting. I am in contact with her and she may have more medals and some other things relating to him. Hopefully I can piece more of this vets story together through what else she has.
